Muscat was founded by jewellery designers Moshe Gross and Vitali Varol, who met while working together in the Caribbean in the early 2000s. Sharing a vision to return to Israel and create a jewellery brand of their own, they spent years travelling, refining their craft and learning from experts in gemstones and precious metals before bringing that dream to life.

In 2015, Muscat opened its first boutique in Jerusalem's iconic Machane Yehuda Market. Inspired by the vibrant spirit of the market, the name Muscat comes from the Hebrew word for nutmeg, while also referencing the founders' favourite grape variety.
